Children, who received a scholarship from NIRP
Jordan Junior School, Masaka

I have been working in Uganda already 2 weeks. We had a really intensive and educational week.

We had a great opportunity to visit following Rakai communities:

  • Kasasa woman group
  • Katwetwe
  • Mucungiro

Also, we visited these families, whose children got a scholarship for school from NIRP (Ndibwami Integrated Rescue Project).

We observed their problems with sanitation and hygiene. We listened many stories about their life.

In addition, we learnt about their methods of income and business.

We had a field visit to Buwunga, where we had an orientation day with pineapple farmers. The purpose of this visit was to help them to engage in market research and development of agroforestry to provide market locally.

This week we observed the issue about sanitation and hygiene. This was one reason, why we visited these schools and households in rural areas.
We also started to make a plan, how to create a fund for local farmers in purpose to educate them and guide them to be more successful in farming and also in agribusiness.
